Have you ever been confused because the doctor says there is nothing wrong with you, yet you feel terrible?  You know someone that had to have bypass surgery due to the fact that he had a lot of blockage?  The procedure saved his life.  But, why didn’t they catch it when it was 75% blockage of 50% or 30%.

A medical doctor will consider that a person is “healthy” if they don’t have a disease.  Their tests are designed to find disease.   This means that sometimes drastic measures need to be used to save a life.

What about health?   Isn’t it better to keep healthy?  Isn’t that the ultimate health insurance?   What you eat counts.  Getting exercise counts.   What do you need to do?

The Diet of the Plague

Most of us have heard about the 1300s plague or Black Death, or Bubonic Plague. I didn’t know much about it so watched a special on TV. At the end of the show, they talked about how it was the microbes that created this problem, and that man’s deadliest enemy was the microbe. I thought that was a strange idea and wasn’t sure what they were selling except maybe “fear”.

Now, an interesting part of the show talked about how after 1/2 of the population was killed by the plague, that there was more food to go around and they even had luxury foods like fruit, vegetables and meat. What? Luxury foods? Yes, it seems that before the bubonic plague, the diet of most of the populace was grains. If you follow it back that was because there had been a famine earlier. Not enough food. Now what does that type of diet do to the immune system? If you read about the plague it affected the lymph glands. What was the cause of this epidemic?

I’m sure I can find out more about this and will be writing more, but seriously, although I know that some people claim that grains are good for you (mostly the people who grow and process grains) that sort of diet is not healthy. The immune system would be compromised. So, man’s deadliest enemy isn’t the microbe, but the fact that he allows himself to eat foods that would lower his immunity and become effect of these microbes.

Anyone who has watched a drug commercial on TV has heard the long list of possible side effects that goes along with taking the drug.

The only reason I can think that someone would still want to take a drug is that they either don’t believe it or have a gambler’s desire to play the odds.

A Balanced Diet – How do you start?

Been doing a lot of study lately on the type of foods we should be eating, and what it will do for health.

It’s much better to eat a good diet, then to deal with the consequences of nutritional deficiencies and the health problems they create.   Underlying all else should be a good diet.

Testosterone Treatments and Health Risks

Recently, you might have noticed a lot of ads about supplementing to help become more like when a guy was 20.   It seems to make some sort of sense, supplement with testosterone.

Giving the body artificial or hormone replacement therapy has never been a good idea.  The best way to help the bodies hormonal system is to find out which glands need support and give the body the nutritional supplements (whole food supplements) it needs to strengthen the system.

Reverse Tooth Decay?

What?  Reverse Tooth Decay?   I was surprised when I read this title as I’ve been told my whole life that once a tooth is decayed the dentist will try and clean it out with his drill and fill it.  And thereby hopefully somehow saving the tooth. And, of course, if it is too far gone, the inevitable words, it will have to be pulled.

I myself have had too many teeth pulled and so was interested in finding out what this was about.   I was surprised to find out that this research was done in 1922 yet I’ve never heard anything about it. Or maybe I wasn’t really surprised that the research was  never followed up on.  It is amazing the research you can find not acted upon if you search for it.
